INTRODUCTION

The War of Independence (also know as the Revolutionary War) was
THE defining moment for the birth of the United States of America.
Many brave men and women contributed their time and effort to the American Revolution.
Imagine if you could go back in time and meet one of these significant figures
and get some tips about how to change something in your life!!!

What would you ask them? What would you want to know?

Well, GUESS WHAT?!?!

Pack your bags!!! You are headed to the 1700s!!!

You and your Time Travelling Partner will be going back in time
to interview a prominent figure of the Revolutionary War Era.
You will learn about the commitment they made to their goal and how they contributed
to the change they wanted to see in their new country.
Then consider this...Is there anything in your life you would like to change?
What could you do to accomplish that? How can you contribute to change you would like to see?

Under the Pennsylvania Standards Aligned System, students will:

  • 8.3.3A: Identify and describe the social, political, cultural, and economic
    contributions of individuals and groups in United States history.
  • 8.3.3D: Identify and describe how conflict and cooperation among groups
    and organizations have impacted the history and development of the US.
  • 1.2.3C: Distinguish between essential and nonessential information within and
    across a variety of texts, identifying exaggeration (bias) where present.
  • 1.2.3D: Make inferences from text when studying a topic (e.g., science, social studies)
    and draw conclusions, citing evidence from the text to support answers.
  • 1.4.3B: Write informational pieces using illustrations when relevant (e.g., descriptions, letters, reports, instructions).
  • 1.5.3B: Develop content appropriate for the topic. Gather and organize information, incorporating
    details relevant to the topic. Write a series of related sentences or paragraphs with one central idea.
