PROCESS

YOUR FIRST TASK
Use websites found on the RESOURCES page to investigate your figure
and answer the following questions using full sentences
on the worksheet provided.

  • 1. When and where was your significant figure born?
  • 2.What was his/her education/occupation?
  • 3. What were the major contributions to the American Revolution of your significant figure?
Be specific and use the timeline links to research their contributions.
  • 4. What characteristics do you believe helped your significant figure accomplish his/her goal? Give examples.
  • YOUR SECOND TASK
Discuss with your partner the guiding questions and prepare a list of 5
original interview questions to ask your figure.
Be sure the questions refer to their personal history,
contribution, and personal feelings about their contribution.

    YOUR THIRD TASK
Using the information from your question worksheet, you and your
partner will create a presentation that details who your significant
figure was and why he or she was important to the revolution.
Each team has their choice of presentation
(ie. poster, skit, PowerPoint, or any other appropriate
means of presentation that is approved by the teacher).

    Presentation should include the following:
    1. Picture or representation of the significant figure
    2. Pictures or representations of their significant contribution(s)
    3. Pictures or representations of their background (personal, educational, occupational)
    4. Pictures or representations of anything else you think is significant to understanding your figure.

  • Students should work together using the links found on the RESOURCES page to
answer the questions in Task 1, but each should hand in their own answers.
  • Students should contribute equally to interview questions and to presentation.
Please record what each student was responsible for and turn that in
    with your final presentation.
  • You will use Mr. Nussbaum's website to research your significant figure as
    well as their contribution(s).
I have included links to wikipedia and USHistory.com to further assist you in your research.
